Details: Why Replace?
1. Prevent Leaks/Seepage: This is the most common and important reason.
* Seal Failure: The valve cover typically contains rubber or silicone seals/gaskets inside. Over time, these seals age, harden, crack, deform, or lose elasticity. Once the seal fails, water from the tank can seep out through the gap between the cover and the tank. This can moisten the humidifier base, desktop, or floor, and may even cause electrical short circuits or water stain damage.
* Physical Damage: If the cover itself (the plastic part) develops cracks, chips, or warping, it may fail to form an effective seal and leak, even if the gasket is intact.

2. Ensure Normal Water Output:
* Valve Function Failure: This cover isn't just a lid; it usually incorporates a check valve (one-way valve) function. When the water tank is correctly installed on the base, a push pin on the base opens the valve inside the cover, allowing water to flow to the atomizer/evaporator. When the tank is removed, the valve should automatically close to prevent water from leaking out of the tank.
* Clogging: If the valve mechanism inside the cover (small holes, springs, sealing diaphragms, etc.) becomes clogged with scale, mineral deposits, or impurities, it will impede normal water flow. This can lead to reduced mist output or even a complete lack of mist from the humidifier.
* Spring Aging: If the check valve's spring loses its elasticity, it may fail to close the valve effectively. This can cause leaks or continuous dripping when the tank is removed.

3. Address Scale and Mineral Deposit Issues:
Even without complete clogging, stubborn scale buildup inside the valve cover and on the seals can affect sealing performance and the smooth opening/closing of the valve. Sometimes cleaning cannot fully remove these deposits, making replacement a more thorough solution.

4. Physical Damage:
Accidental cracks from dropping, thread wear causing stripping (inability to screw on tightly), broken clips/latches, and other physical damage directly impact its sealing and functionality, necessitating replacement.

5. Hygiene Considerations:
The internal structure of the valve cover is complex and prone to accumulating grime. If it's difficult to clean thoroughly or shows obvious signs of spots or unpleasant odors, replacing it with a new one is a good way to ensure water cleanliness and air hygiene.
