Pentair Pentek S1 Series cartridges are manufactured from pleated, resin-impregnated cellulose media and are designed for general whole-house water filtration. The S1-20 is the 20-inch, nominal 20 micron version and is an economically priced, effective choice for reducing dirt, sand, silt, rust, and other sediment down to 20 microns, helping keep your water cleaner and helping protect appliances, plumbing, and downstream filters.

The media is pleated around a polypropylene core for added strength, which increases dirt-holding capacity, and the overlap seam is sonically welded to reduce bypass for more efficient filtration. The initial pressure drop is just 0.8 psi at 10 gpm, and the cartridge is rated for water temperatures from 40 to 145 degrees F.

This is a cellulose cartridge and is recommended for chlorinated water supplies only. With maximum dimensions of 2.63 inch by 20 inch (67 mm x 508 mm), the S1-20 is a drop-in replacement for standard 20-inch whole-house sediment housings. Replace the cartridge when you notice a drop in water pressure or water quality.
